upcoming gigs…

Date Artist City Venue Country
25/02/18 Steve Lawson and Poppy Porter Birmingham, West Midlands Tower Of Song United Kingdom
Time: 7:30pm. Admission: £5/£8/£10. Age restrictions: All Ages/Licensed. Address: 107 Pershore Road South. Venue phone: 0121 486 1300.

Steve Lawson and Poppy Porter bring their amazing music and live art show to Birmingham. Steve plays, Poppy draws what she sees. Poppy is synaesthetic – she ‘sees’ sound, and as the images appear on the paper, Steve treats the emerging art as a graphic score, folding it back into the music in way that creates a glorious feedback loop of art influencing art.

It’s an immersive experience, to watch the art take shape before your eyes, to hear the music morph and twist as it is improvised in response to the art. You need to see this!

Get tickets now – there are 20 ‘early bird’ £5 tickets. It’ll be £10 on the door and regular advanced tickets will be £8. So get yours now.

Your ticket includes a download of the track ‘To Hear With An Open Hand’ from Steve’s new solo album, PS, You Are Brilliant.

      Hi Kevin,

I’m not going to be back there any time all that soon… probably will next time Michael Manring comes over cos it worked great for us there… Wasn’t the right venue for what I had planned for the monthly thing…

  • Nebraskan

Are you coming back to Nebraska any time soon?

    • Steve

nothing planned at the moment, sadly, but I’m sure we’ll be back in Wisner at some point – we have good friends there 🙂

  • Slummy9

What USA cities will you be making appearances at and when?

    • Steve

Hey, we’re just coming to the end of our tour – it wasn’t widely promoted as it was the first time we’ve done this many shows with our 7 month old son, so didn’t want to have an over-full tour that we needed to cancel if he really hadn’t been into it…

We’re in Cincinnati on July 6th, then have a private concert in Pittsburgh on the 9th, and then we’re back to England.

    Steve … ,

A concert in The Netherlands would be a dream come true. The Bimhuis in Amsterdam would be a great place for you to play … ! I could even help with contacting them or any Dutch language related things.

    Love your music,

    Martin
