the soundtrack to the day you wish you'd had

upcoming gigs…

Date Artist City Venue Country
10/04/15 ToryCore Battersea, London Battersea Arts Centre United Kingdom
Time: 9:45pm. Admission: £12/£9. Age restrictions: All Ages. Box office: 020 7223 2223. Address: Lavender Hill. Venue phone: 020 7223 2223.

What better way to underscore Conservative economic policy than with the sound of PURE EVIL?

Part metal-recital, part exorcism, #TORYCORE combines sludge and doom metal with the Budget speech 2015; a pounding subverbal deathgrowl with text from the blue suits at Tory HQ.

Chris Thorpe on guitar, Steve Lawson on bass, Lucy Ellinson on vocals with lyrics by George Osborne and the architects of austerity. #TORYCORE is twisted avant-garde metal and a guttural vocal that plays like a verbatim record of a government ripping society’s guts out.

Created in association with Forest Fringe. Winner of The Arches Brick Award 2012. Performed in solidarity with Black Triangle campaign – in defence of Disability Rights

Running Time: 75 mins

(Part of BAC’s Taking A Stand Season, which also includes the unmissable Early Days (Of A Better Nation) – go see it!

    Hi Steve,

Hope all is well. Are you back at Round Midnight soon, if so have you got a line up in mind?

      Hi Kevin,

I’m not going to be back there any time all that soon… probably will next time Michael Manring comes over cos it worked great for us there… Wasn’t the right venue for what I had planned for the monthly thing…

  • Nebraskan

Are you coming back to Nebraska any time soon?

    • Steve

nothing planned at the moment, sadly, but I’m sure we’ll be back in Wisner at some point – we have good friends there :)

  • Slummy9

What USA cities will you be making appearances at and when?

    • Steve

Hey, we’re just coming to the end of our tour – it wasn’t widely promoted as it was the first time we’ve done this many shows with our 7 month old son, so didn’t want to have an over-full tour that we needed to cancel if he really hadn’t been into it…

We’re in Cincinnati on July 6th, then have a private concert in Pittsburgh on the 9th, and then we’re back to England.

    Steve … ,

A concert in The Netherlands would be a dream come true. The Bimhuis in Amsterdam would be a great place for you to play … ! I could even help with contacting them or any Dutch language related things.

    Love your music,

    Martin
