@glen
I have an old Garmin GPS receiver (Geko 201) that has some games built in. They are simple games like mazes and "worms", but you move yourself in the game by moving physically. I guess you don't want to play them near any cliffs! But I've always wondered why I've not seen anything similar anywhere else. There must be lots of potential...

Hi Glenn, I'm definitely giving the location stuff some thought - I'm interested to see where it goes,where it becomes useful, where it stays as a fun gimmick (nothing wrong with gimmicks if the get you noticed and don't detract from the real reason you do what you do! :) ) - I'll be writing a bigger post on 'mobile and the future of the industry' soon - and will try and pull in some of the stuff from the parts of the world where the 'present is all mobile' not just the future...

(oh, and great photo, thanks! ;) )

..and think location man... Nokia, as an example seems to have a group focused on developing/porting sports tracker applications to the gaming space (think real-time, connected, head-to-head gaming in a community space, ie. Ovi) Entertainment + mobility + location (like GPS) = the future. Thanks for your thoughts again Steve - oh, and great photo man!
