I suppose a corollary would be "act like a professional." I can understand the guy being disappointed, but if he'd kept his emotions in check and acted like a real pro, he could have got through the night with his dignity and his potential future audience members intact. Then again, I suppose professional musicians are supposed to trash hotel rooms and abuse groupies, so perhaps that isn't the best advice. Your post also reminded me of <a>David Foster Wallace's commencement speech</a> from a few years back. Nice post.
